By utilizing a lightweight high-grade plastic and combining it with a fast open sidewall we were able to create a stiff lightweight (4.8oz) head that is perfect all over the field.  The Powell Pioneer™ is a terrific example of a head that has the right amount of material in the right places. This iron tough minimalist is an example of our commitment to the design and engineering process.  The extreme offset dips right after the solid throat for incredible feel and ball control.  It’s topped with a scalloped scoop that creates a wider base for ground balls yet maintains its speed, stiffness and visual appeal.

I have owned many HS and U spec heads, these range from Rabil 2s HS and U, every Clutch that was made(except the 4), and just a bunch of other random heads. Out of all the heads I have owned the Pioneer us my favorite, for most U spec heads the throat is to wide the Pioneer’s throat is just the right width. Some heads are too stiff or too soft; the Pioneer has just the right stiffness. The head is pretty light too, no unessary weight.

The head also picks up ground ball real well. There are so many stringing holes(16), with these you can pretty much put any pocket you want in it. The only problem I had a real hard time putting it on a Dragonfly.

This head is great! It’s great on groundballs, stiff enough to be consistent, and very lighweight. Sam’s stringing is super consistent and accurate and has a perfect release!

What a great head the Pioneer is! Strung it up traditional; with all of the sidewall holes, this was an absolute dream! Stiff and yet flexible when/where you need it to be. Scooping up groundballs is smooth, almost sucks them in like a vacuum! Passing around, it feels so natural, it’s almost effortless. Shooting? Wow. Quick release, snap-like whip, tremendous power (especially when on a Flight 22 shaft (of course!)). Having played since the late 80s, I’ve had my share of sticks, but BY FAR, this is one of the best I have owned. I expect that this will be my weapon for a long time to come. *probably need to get a second one for box now!

Bought this head, along with the Powell shaft for my son who is in 7th grade. He loves its and prefers to play it over some very good sticks. He has a Nike Lakota and STX Superpower, and I can’t even get him to pick those stick up anymore, they are collecting dust. Strung it myself with M1 pocket from String King.

This is a great head, and so light. I have it strung with a mid-high pocket and it throws great, it also has such good hold. Put it on the flight 22 one of the best combos out there. And I was very fortunate to win it in the 30 days of giveaways and when I took it to lacrosse unlimited the stringer couldn’t wait to get his hands on it.

The pioneer is great for ground balls and is has the flexibility for face offs too. I have had at least 15 other heads and not one has come close to being as good as the Powell Pioneer

Oh the pioneer. How I love you. I purchased the complete bloodline stick at a summer tournament this year and haven’t put it down since. The head is an absolute beauty with amazing stringing opportunities and is perfect on ground balls it’s stiff but at the same time has that little bit of flex we all need. as a major stringer I have tried every possible pocket in this head and have yet to find one that I didn’t like. This head is by far the nicest and will be my head of choice for years to come

I’ve been playing lacrosse since before the advent of the offset head. This head is absolutely my favorite. Ive been using it since march. It reminds me of some of my favorite features from past heads. Love the scoop and the offset. It’s the first head ive owned in over 20 years that I didn’t string myself. Sam knows what he’s doing.

The Pioneer is an excellent head. My son plays attack and has used 3 pre-strung Pioneers from Powell and all have performed well straight out of the packaging. The head’s weight to strength ratio is great, love the face shape, scoops GBs with ease and when it’s strung from Powell Lacrosse, prepare to throw dimes and rip corners. Will definitely be using more Pioneers from Powell in the future. Thank you Powell Lacrosse for excellent products!

Got the pre-strung Pioneer on a Bloodline shaft for my 8th grade son and it’s the best strung stuck I’ve ever seen in my 25+ years of playing the game. By far a better value than what I’ve been paying for custom strung STX and Brine heads that are never consistent. I like my sons so much I’m getting me one too.
