Professional field lacrosse is back in a big way as both the MLL and PLL had great first games last weekend with some nail biting finishes and amazing goals in every game. There are only two MLL games this weekend, but both should be exciting up and down affairs as the teams start to get into their grooves. The PLL plays in New York City at Red Bull Arena this weekend for their second ever set of games. Will we see more overtime games? The Sunday PLL game will be on the main NBC channel so support the league and the sport of lacrosse by tuning in. Here are the games we will we watching this weekend.
Chrome vs Whipsnakes
Watch on NBC Sports Gold at 1 pm
The Chrome lost their first ever game in overtime, while the Whipsnakes were able to come out victorious in their first ever game in overtime. If the close games of Week 1 for the PLL were any indication for how the rest of the season will go, then expect every game to be close hard fought battles. With lineup changes and it only being the second week, it is hard to say who has the advantage, but the Chrome will definitely be hungry for their first win. Drew Snider buried the OT winner for the Whipsnakes last weekend.

Archers vs Redwoods
Watch on NBC Sports Network at 4 pm
Both the Archers and the Redwoods won their first games thanks to the great play of their offenses and the Redwoods got an amazing performance from their rookie goalie Tim Troutner. Stephen Kelly scored the first ever PLL goal, but will now face Greg “Beast” Gurenlian at the X which should be a great battle. The biggest question for both teams will be how to stop each other’s all star caliber offenses with Tom Schreiber and Will Manny playing outstanding for the Archers and Joe Walters and Sergio Salcido lighting it up from the midfield for the Redwoods.
Denver Outlaws vs Atlanta Blaze
Watch on Lax Sports Network at 8 pm
The Outlaws and Blaze will meet again after playing last Sunday in a game that Atlanta was able to win 14-12 against the defending MLL champions. Atlanta was led by Tom Palasek and Bryan Cole with 3 goals each as well as the great play of Goalie Chris Madalon in net. Expect the dangerous Denver offense to come alive this time around and Goalie Dillon Ward to bounce back after a tough weekend playing two games in three days. The Blaze were on fire in their new all red uniforms in their inaugural game at their new home Grady Stadium.

Atlas vs Chaos
Watch on NBC at 2 pm
In the first lacrosse game to ever be broadcast on NBC’s main channel, Paul Rabil’s Atlas will look to bounce back from their loss last week against the crafty Chaos squad that is also looking for their first win. With both teams boasting some of the craftiest players in the league and physical defenders, this should be a great game to showcase lacrosse on a national TV network and hopefully gain some new lacrosse fans. The Atlas played an intense game against the Redwoods last weekend and will be ready to come out hot against the Chaos.

Boston Cannons vs Dallas Rattlers
Watch on WatchStadium.com at 4 pm
Boston was victorious in their first game game of the season at their new stadium thanks i big part to Mark Cockerton’s 6 goals and now look to start 2-0. They must first go down to Texas to face a hungry Dallas team that was beating the Chesapeake Bayhawks at halftime, but could not stop the Bayhawks comeback led by Lyle Thompson. This is a Dallas team that finished 11-3 in the regular season last season and will be looking to win their first game of this season in front of their fans.
