We are at a strange crossroads of both the MLL and PLL seasons. There is one week left in the PLL regular season, but there are still 5 weeks left in the MLL season. The good thing is that lacrosse fans will have amazing lacrosse games to watch until October. The PLL postseason is almost set as they will make their last regular season stop in Albany. MLL teams still have time to change their postseason fates. It will be a great weekend of lacrosse as the intensity begins to ramp up as teams’s seasons are on the line. Here are the games we cannot wait to watch this weekend.
Dallas Rattlers (4-7) vs Boston Cannons (7-4)
Watch on Lax Sports Network at 5 pm ET
What a whirlwind season for the Dallas Rattlers. After losing their first 7 games in a row, they are now the hottest team in pro lacrosse as they have gone on a 4 game win streak. The play of goalie Sean Sconone and their rejuvenated offense have been the catalysts of their turn around. However, if anyone can end their streak it would be the Boston Cannons. The Cannons are coming off a huge overtime win against the first place Bayhawks.

Chesapeake Bayhawks (7-4) vs Atlanta Blaze (7-5)
Watch on MajorLeagueLacrosse.com/watch at 5 pm ET
If you like run and gun creative lacrosse, then you have to tune into this matchup between the Bayhawks and Blaze. The Bayhawks’ Lyle Thompson and the Blaze’s Mark Matthews alone are two of the most creative players in the world not to mention all of the other skilled players on both teams. The last time these teams played players were ejected for fighting so this will surely be 60 minutes of chippy entertaining lacrosse.
New York Lizards (3-9) vs Denver Outlaws (6-5)
Watch on Stadium at 9 pm ET
Both these teams have been in a bit of a downward spiral since the all star break. The Lizards have fallen to last place and the Outlaws have faltered from 1st place to 4th. This game is a perfect opportunity for one of these teams to get back on track. Injecting Mickie Schlosser back into the Outlaws lineup could give them the boost they need to get back in the win column.
Atlas (4-5) vs Chaos (7-2)
Watch on NBC Sports Gold at 8 pm ET
This is an important game on so many levels. First, the Atlas need to win to give themselves the best chance to reach the playoffs. Second, several members of the Chaos will return to Albany to play in front of their home crowd in what will be a great moment for lacrosse in the New York Capital region. What could be better than a playoff seeding deciding game on a Saturday night in front of what should be a sellout crowd.
Can the Chaos make it three straight weeks of appearing on Sportscenter’s Top 10 plays?
Three guarantees every Sunday this summer:

Dallas Rattlers (4-7) vs Chesapeake Bayhawks (7-4)
Watch on Stadium at 5 pm ET
With both of these teams playing games on Saturday as well, the players will have to recover quickly. Chesapeake will be the home team, but they actually will have a longer trip from Atlanta than Dallas does coming from their game in Boston. That could play a big role in how well rested the teams are. If Dallas beats Boston and continues on their win streak, they could move into a playoff position with a win against the Bayhawks as well.
Redwoods (4-5) vs Chrome (2-7)
Watch on NBC Sports Gold at 1:30 pm ET
This is a must win game for the Redwoods after losing badly to the Whipsnakes last weekend. The Chrome are out of the playoffs and must now switch into a different mindset. With the PLL’s new playoff rules, the Chrome’s season won’t be over as they will now play for the 1st pick in next year’s draft. The Chrome will not go down without a fight and neither will the Redwoods so expect a hard fought game from these two frustrated teams.
Whipsnakes (6-3) vs Archers (4-5)
Watch on NBC Sports Gold at 4:30 pm ET
The Whipsnakes clinched their playoff spot last weekend and now face an Archers team that is in a good position to make the playoffs, but would love to get another win to leave no doubt that they will have a chance to compete for the championship. These teams meet for the first time since the Whipsnakes beat the Archers in overtime in Week 3. Can the Archers keep their postseason hopes alive?
They will have to stop the wrecking ball that is the Whipsnakes offense.
The winner of the Minto Cup will finally be decided this weekend. The Minto Cup is the Canadian National Championship for Jr. A box lacrosse. The Orangeville Northmen will play the Victoria Shamrocks in a best of 5 games series to decide who will win one of the most sought after trophies in all of lacrosse.
The games are being streamed, but you have to purchase them to watch. These games will be worth the money as the best young box players in the world will battle for the Minto Cup. You can buy the games at the link below:
