What We’re Watching: MLL Week 15/PLL Playoffs Second Round

Things are heating up as we are now in the last couple weeks of the MLL and PLL seasons. The 4 MLL playoff teams are set, but the seedings are still up for grabs. The PLL will play its second round of playoffs in New York City as every team is still in the fight for the Championship or next year’s 1st Draft Pick. Here are the pro lacrosse games we cannot wait to watch this weekend.

Saturday 9/14

Chaos (7-4) vs Redwoods (6-5)
Watch on NBC Sports Network at 5 pm ET

The Redwoods are proving everybody wrong as they are still in the hunt for the first ever PLL Championship, but they will have to go up against a Chaos team that is definitely not out of the fight. The Chaos ran into a hot Whipsnakes team and didn’t have an answer for their offensive explosion. The Redwoods and Chaos played some of the most intense games of the summer against each other in the regular season. Last weekend the Redwoods were the ones dropping 2 point bombs instead of the Chaos Bomb Squad. There will surely be trash talk and physical play that will make this a must watch game.

Chesapeake Bayhawks (8-6) vs Denver Outlaws (9-5)
Watch on Majorleaguelacrosse.com/watch at 5 pm ET

These two teams have traded 1st place several times over the MLL season and with two games left to play the Bayhawks have another chance to steal the 1 seed from the Outlaws. Both teams are in the playoffs so expect these games to have a different pace and feel to them as players don’t want to risk getting injured. John Grant Jr. will sit out the game to heal up for the playoffs. These are two of the flashiest offensive teams in the league so still expect some highlight reel goals.

Archers (5-6) vs Chrome (2-9)
Watch on NBC Sports Gold at 8 pm ET

The playoffs for the 1st Draft Pick are a new experience for everybody, but it has to be the most strange for the players. The Archers are in disarray after losing Tom Schreiber and Jackson Place to injury last week. Their hopes of winning the Championship are gone, but they still have a chance to compete for a prize. Expect some new players to get a chance on the gameday roster. The Chrome have lost several games in a row, but are still playing this late into the season. Despite their record, they could still redeem their season with a trip to the 1st Draft Pick game.

Boston Cannons (8-6) vs Atlanta Blaze (8-6)
Watch on Lax Sports Network at 8 pm ET

The Blaze and Cannons have played one goal games several times this season and I definitely expect this game could go the same way. Both teams have secured their playoff berths, but can put themselves into a great position by getting a better seeding. After winning some dramatic games last weekend these teams may not be playing with the same desperation, but they will definitely put on a show.

Look out for some more crafty goals by Kyle Jackson and company
