Get ready for a wild weekend of lacrosse with 3 MLL games this weekend as well as the first ever PLL All-Star Skills Competition and All-Star game. The top MLL teams like the Boston Cannons and Denver Outlaws will need to get wins before their All-Star break to keep their momentum going. The PLL All-Star game will be experimenting with some unique rules which will make for a fun watch on Sunday night. Here’s what we will be watching on this jam packed weekend of lacrosse.
Atlanta Blaze vs Boston Cannons
Watch on LaxSportsNetwork at 5 pm ET
The Blaze and the Cannons will meet for a rematch after Boston escaped Atlanta with a 17-16 win thanks to a last second save by goalie Tate Boyce who came in with about 1 minute left in relief to make his first save of the season. The Blaze will be out for revenge and looking to work their way back up the MLL standings.

New York Lizards vs Chesapeake Bayhawks
Watch on LaxSportsNetwork at 7 pm ET
The Lizards have pulled together a couple wins recently and could build some momentum going into the All-Star break, but they will be up against a Bayhawks team that is looking more and more dangerous every week. Lyle Thompson is an early candidate for MLL MVP.
PLL All-Star Skills Competition
Watch on NBC Sports Gold at 5 pm ET
The competition for the PLL skills contest will be the Fastest Shot, Freestyle, Goalie Competition, Fastest Player, and Accuracy Shooting. These events are always fun to watch and see the personalities of the players. Look for the fastest shot and fastest player to be particularly exciting.
Dallas Rattlers vs Denver Outlaws
Watch on Majorleaguelacrosse.com/watch/ at 4 PM ET
Will the Rattlers finally get their first win of the season? I really want to see them get it, but playing the powerhouse Outlaws again does not bode well for them. However players like Bradley Voigt and other rookies are giving the Rattlers an injection of energy that could help them get that first elusive W.
PLL All-Star Game: Team Baptiste vs Team Rambo
Watch on NBC Sports at 8 pm ET
Like any league’s All-Star game the PLL’s is sure to have a combination of flashy goals and plays as well as special celebrations, but the most interesting part will be the experimental rule changes they will be trying each quarter. It only seems right that the PLL will try some theatrics in Los Angeles.
This All-Star Game we’ll be implementing 2 rules to encourage creativity & speed.
In Q2, after a goal, the goalie will take the ball out of the net and clear.
In Q3, instead of a faceoff, teams will compete for possession using a ball drop.
